It was only the other day when a friend of ours mentioned to us about how it would be great to ditch there Amazon Fire TV and go for something a bit more powerful and future proof, his concern was that not being able to using his Amazon Prime account on another device, even though he likes the XBMC side of it too.
Funny enough this prompted us to do some research and find a way around this….and we have. You can actually run your Amazon Prime account within Kodi.
We told our friend (Joel) about this and he was stoked. So I guess this artcile was prompted on us by him.
Joel hasn’t decided what device he wants to get…but we told him that we will write up this blog so it’s available for everyone to use as a guide (like we always do)
So if you have a Amazon Prime account and want to watch your content via XBMC / Kodi, follow our guide below.
Before you start, you’ll need to download the repo that holds Amazon Prime. You can download this HERE
Once you done the above, select settings.
Drop down and select Add-ons
Using your arrows on your keyboard, hop over the right side , scroll down and select Get Add-ons.
Here you will find the list of your repo’s you already have installed. We are after the one highlighted.
Once you’ve found it please select.
Navigate down the bottom and choose Video Add-ons.
You will now see a list of the add-ons that are on this repo. We want the Amazon Prime Instant Video.
That’s right…….hit that Install tab.
Installation should take no longer than one minute.
Once completed, head back to your Add-on Central where it will be waiting for you to use.
The first time you open Amazon Prime Instant Video, it will ask you to set up your country and also your account details.
Once you have done these, your ready to rock it on your device.
