As we all know, Prometheus is open to a whole host of different customisation options, that’s one of the many things that makes the box so great. Well for those who are into creating a style that makes their layout completley unique then you will be happy to know that you can actually upload your very own custom navigation bar. All you need to do is either design your own image using an editor such as Photoshop or find an image which would be suitable to use. Ideally you’re going to need to either create or edit an image to fit the following dimensions (1920x90px).
STEP 1. FROM THE MAIN MENU CLICK THE DOWN ARROW TO SHOW THE SMART MENU AND THEN SCROLL DOWN TO SKIN SETTINGS AND CLICK ENTER
STEP 2. SCROLL DOWN TO STYLES AND CLICK ENTER.
STEP 3. SCROLL DOWN TO MY STYLE AND ENABLE IT.
STEP 4. YOU NOW NEED TO SCROLL DOWN TO CHOOSE A SINGLE IMAGE,AND CLICK ENTER
STEP 5. YOU NOW NEED TO CHOSE THE IMAGE WHICH YOU WANT AS A BACKGROUND IMAGE IN THE NAVIGATION BAR. I HAVE CREATED 2 TEST ONES AND UPLOADED THEM TO MY PICTURES FOLDER FOR EASY ACCESS
Please note guys, you need to have already created an image to use as a navigation background. I have used an image which is 1920×90 pixels in order to get the maximum resolution without any issues with aspect ratios or squashed images.
STEP 6. AFTER YOU HAVE CHOSEN THE IMAGE YOU WILL NOTICE THAT THE NAVIGATION BAR HAS BEEN UPDATED IN THE SKIN SETTINGS PAGE. IF YOU NEED TO ALTER THE TRANSPARENCY THEN YOU CAN DO SO DIRECTLY BELOW THE CHOSE SINGLE IMAGE BUTTON
STEP 7. PRESS ESC TO RETURN TO THE MAIN SCREEN AND YOU SHOULD THEN SEE THE NEW NAVIGATION BAR IN PLACE.
If you need to change it again simply repeat the steps above. If you need to remove it and restore the default navigation bar then all you need to do is go to SKIN SETTINGS > STYLES >GRAPHITE STYLE (STANDARD) and enable it.
So that’s that guys. You now know how to create and upload a custom navigation bar. We would love to see some of the designs that you have come up with so please free to Tweet them in so that we can see your set up.
